Following the narrow, winding roads will lead you to the small coastal town of Portpatrick, Scotland. Sneak away from the well known paths and find your way to Dunskey Estate. Pulled right from a fairytale, you can spend your days taking in the sights of thousands of acres.

With many lodging options, we chose The Saltwater Chronicles and it was one of the best decisions of our whole stay in Scotland. Tucked on a hill above the ocean was the most perfect, quaint three bedroom home with views that you wouldn’t believe were real unless you were seeing them with your own eyes.

With two beaches to choose from just a short walk from the front door you can spend your time beach-combing, wildlife watching or just sitting and taking in the views. Take the grounds map and go for a walk throughout the estate to discover a hedge maze, fairy forest and so much more. The estate also offers activities such as loch fishing, archery and beach bonfires.

I will recommend this stay a thousand times over (years later I still find myself missing this stay often), and the pricing was extremely reasonable for the lodge size and all the additional amenities!
